Travel & Vaccination Clinic

Every traveller has a travel consultation before receiving travel health advice or vaccinations. That is true even if you have travelled to the same destination before, had travel advice elsewhere, or been vaccinated by another provider.

Our pharmacist has to complete an independent travel risk assessment for each traveller. It is specific to this service and is not transferable to or from another healthcare professional or organisation.

1. Book your appointment online.
2. Complete the travel risk assessment we email you.
3. On the day, your consultation happens either in person or by telephone.
4. If the consultation was in person and we have the vaccine in stock, you can usually be vaccinated in the same appointment. If it was by telephone, we book a separate appointment for any vaccinations you decide to have.

To make sure our recommendations are accurate, we may review your vaccination history before your consultation. By booking, you consent to the pharmacist accessing your Summary Care Record, where available, for that purpose.

If you would rather we did not, contact the pharmacy before your appointment and we will discuss other ways of confirming your history.

• An accurate history matters — it determines which vaccinations are recommended or required.
• Delays in obtaining it may mean your consultation is postponed or rescheduled.
• Where it cannot be verified, recommendations are based on the information available at the time.
• It is your responsibility to give accurate information about previous vaccinations. We cannot accept responsibility for recommendations affected by incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable history.

This is a private vaccination service, and we do not routinely notify your GP that you have been vaccinated.

After each vaccination we give you documentation confirming the vaccine given, the batch number, the date, and the other relevant details. We strongly recommend passing this to your GP so your medical record can be updated.

If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as you can.

• An appointment missed without 24 hours’ notice counts as a non-attendance.
• The £20 consultation fee is forfeited.
• A new appointment and a new fee are needed before another consultation can be arranged.

We email the risk assessment after you book. If it is not completed at least 48 hours before your appointment, the appointment may be postponed or rescheduled — it cannot go ahead without it.

It is your responsibility to make sure everything you tell us is accurate, complete and up to date. If your travel plans or medical circumstances change after you submit the questionnaire, please tell us before your consultation.
